Exterior Siding

SIGNIFICANT portions of the dwelling with paint peeling, dry rot or damage that present immediate jeopardy of loss should be a major. General rule of thumb would be 25% or more of the entire structure with significant problems should be a major condition, although this is not absolute as some very serious loss can occur from even 1 area with extreme damage.

Slight paint peeling, dry rot or damage should be recorded as minor condition concerns.

Damaged, missing, or hanging sections that allow for abnormal exposure of the dwelling to weather should be marked as a major condition concern. Exposed electrical wiring that can be potentially dangerous should be marked as a major condition concern in this siding category.
