Homeowner's Insurance Inspections

Other-Day Care Business on Premises

We accept Day Care operations that have 4 or fewer children enrolled. When there are more than 4 children, the Day Care falls into the category of requiring a license to operate and is then not accepted.

If you can confirm through visual observation (signage/several children on the premises) that there is a possible Day Care being operated on the property, you can inquire during an interview as to how many children are enrolled. If there are 4 or less, you would make a comment regarding the Day Care in the notes section and answer "no" to the Business category on the 1st page of the inspection form.

If there are more than 4, you will need to answer "yes" (this will automatically trigger a major condition and will cause the policy to be unacceptable). If you do not have an interview and/or are unable to confirm the number of children enrolled you would make a comment on the inspection, but do not indicate "yes" for the business.
